I know Tenney, and have seen those photos. Very sad demise of some beautiful tourmaline, but it probably shows what could happen in nature if the host rock were subjected to heat like a magma intrusion, becoming a different mineral.

Thanks! You are too kind! I hope to write more soon. I have tons of stories to spill.

In the meantime, even though the gem show in Governador Valadares has been cancelled, I am told the gem fair in Teófilo Otoni will go on during the last week of August.

And, I must say, I noticed that the sellers in Teófilo Otoni were feeling a bit proud of that fact -- they had been taking a bit of a beating from GV in the last couple of years.

But, if there is any type of business that has its ups and downs, it is the gem business, don't we all know that!
