It`s about time someone pointed this out! BRAVO! I find colored gemstones much more interesting and beautiful than diamonds, and if clear sparklers are what you want, how about a zircon a Danburite or a clear sapphire? Rainbow crystal quartz is gorgeous and I like them better than diamonds too. They are beautiful and much more affordable.

You know it's so refreshing to hear that since the definition of semi-precious for some reason has a negative connotation, as less desirable than precious stones. Have you ever seen Herkimer Diamonds for instance? They are magnificent, and the cut is natural.
Have you ever seen Herkimer Diamonds? We have visited, and excavated once, and they are magnificent. Clear as diamonds, but the cut is natural, and they're called semi-precious!
Depends on the stone, some of my fancy colour diamonds look awesome.small white diamonds are on the whole pretty boring though .they are really just well marketed to the masses.my royal blue rose cut sapphire keeps me excited and I rarely take it off ,so it's top sapphire over diamond for me.
